Extreme Couponing #2

9 Apr

I forgot to mention this one thing in my previous post. One of the attractions of coupon savings is the number on the bottom of the receipt. Usually the receipt totals up the coupon savings for you and sometimes the cashier even circles it for you. But most receipts don’t total up how much you save by using generic brand (HEB is the only store I’ve seen that). And no receipt says “You saved $$$ buy buying whole carrots instead of  already cut up sticks, or by buying dry beans instead of canned, or by buying the larger bottle of ketchup.” Your savings are more obvious with coupons, because the receipt tells you how much you save. Just a thought.
